Soundcloud-Stream:  „Physical“  - https://soundcloud.com/red-bull-records/theaces-physical

To Watch in 2017” benannt (NPRPaper MagIdolatorAll Things Go,  Euphoria. Magazine etc.)

Ein aktuelles Video-Interview ist im Billboard-Channel zu sehen.

Weitere Infos:

Mixed by Mike Crossey, „Physical“ will appear on the band’s debut EP, I Don’t Like Being Honest, which will be released globally on June 23rd via Red Bull Records. Fans can purchase ‘Physical’ everywhere now.

The quartet are made up of sisters Cristal (on lead vocals/guitar), and drummer Alisa Ramirez, completed by guitarist Katie Henderson and bassist McKenna Petty. Thanks to their family, the American-Honduran siblings were exposed to music early on: at home their mum played Earth, Wind & Fire, Michael Jackson, and Whitney Houston, meanwhile their older brother introduced them to The Misfits, The Casualties, and Hendrix.

Alisa was banging the drums from eight years old, with Cristal writing original songs from age 10, forming a tight-knit unit with McKenna (who Cristal initially met in kindergarten) around the same time. “They asked me to get a bass for Christmas so I could become the third band member,” McKenna laughs. “So I did. And then I had to figure out how to play.” Their lineup solidified a year later when McKenna met Katie in junior high. The newly formed band would now blend McKenna and Katie’s alternative tastes (they grew up on The Cure, The Beatles and Depeche Mode) with those of Alisa and Cristal to truly find their sound.

Late last year The Aces self-released their first single ‘Stuck’ which was called ‘windows down, road trip pop at its best,’ by Idolator while Nylon claimed it to have ‘all the markings of a stellar debut,’ and DIY Mag thought it had ‘every potential chart-smash pop ticked.’ Additionally, ‘Stuck’ landed them spots on ‘Artists To Watch in 2017’ lists for Paper MagIdolatorAll Things Go, and Euphoria. Magazine to name a few and peaked at number 10 in Hype Machine last week.

The band are currently in the studio working on their debut album. Stay tuned for more information about The Aces and I Don’t Like Being Honest.

THE DRUMS - "Blood Under My Belt" Video / Album im Juni / Show in Berlin

VIDEO ZU “BLOOD UNDER MY BELT“ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWptjJ200EQ

Neues Album "Abysmal Thoughts“ am 16.06.17

Early praise for “Abysmal Thoughts”:

“This is the Drums you know, and indeed, you’ll feel compelled to answer back that you love them too.” - Pitchfork

“‘Blood Under My Belt’ swings back to the band’s halcyon-sounding days, recalling the likes of the Beach Fossils and Wild Nothing via its rippling bounce and rotational hooks.” - Stereogum

“Indie pop gems” - SPIN

“First single ‘Blood Under My Belt’ is quintessential Drums, instantly catchy and a nice welcome back.” - Brooklyn Vegan

“The song serves as proof that Pierce can still write an incredibly danceable pop song, even if the subject matter is far from upbeat.” - Paste

The Drums recently announced their return with “Abysmal Thoughts,” their fourth album which will be released on June 16th via Anti-. Today the band shares the music video for the record’s first single “Blood Under My Belt,” a quintessential Drums song: a real heartbreaker disguised as a sunny track, showcasing frontman Jonny Pierce’s masterful pop sensibility. Watch the music video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWptjJ200EQ&feature=youtu.be

Jonny Pierce on the making of the music video:

“I hate making music videos. But, alas, sometimes you need to feed the beast, and I decided to make a music video that explores some visual fetishes of mine - mainly sportswear and a new exploration of colors that I've long-loved but hadn't been a part of the band’s aesthetic until now. I love this new era of The Drums because I'm allowed to express exactly what I want and take it all the way.”

Across a year and three months of home recording between Los Angeles and his cabin in upstate New York—with the same guitar, synthesizer, drum machine and reverb unit he’s played since the beginning of The Drums—Pierce put together “Abysmal Thoughts.” With help from engineer Jonathan Schenke (Parquet Courts, Mannequin Pussy and more), the result is an unflinching autobiography with Pierce back in full control of the band. He’s back to not just writing all the songs by himself but playing every instrument, too, this time realizing exactly his own personal vision for the band. Not coincidentally, it’s some of the most revelatory work he’s ever done. It is a vivid self-portrait, alive with the hyperdramatic emotional potency of the Smiths, the arch literary pop moves of New Zealanders like the Verlaines and the Clean, and the riotous clatter-punk power of the UK DIY bands of 1979.

As the last album cycle for The Drums finished and his long-term relationship with his former partner dissolved, Pierce took some time away from music altogether in hopes to reconnect with himself and find future inspiration. Determined to make a change, he ended up leaving his longtime home in New York and found himself isolated in a large empty apartment in Los Angeles, all his plans for life and love suddenly in shambles. That hardship and confusion—and the clarity of personality and purpose it inspired—became “Abysmal Thoughts.”

With The Drums’ new record, band founder Jonny Pierce is making the exact album he’s always held in his heart. Of course, this is The Drums, so that heart is broken—but there’s beauty and even bliss in this kind of heartbreak. “I said I wanted to let life happen?” he says. “Well, the universe listened and life began to fuck me real good! But honestly, I make the worst art when I’m comfortable. The stuff that resonates with me the longest—and that resonates with others—is always the stuff that comes out of my misery.”

Now the highs are higher than ever, and the lows absolutely bottomless. The Drums are back, and while there’s a heavy sadness here, Pierce is stronger for fighting through it. “Happiness can be confusing to me,” says Pierce. “It shows up out of nowhere, and before you can even get used to it, it’s vanished. But “Abysmal Thoughts?” I can rely on them—and with the political chaos that is raining down, who knows when these dark feelings will subside?”

Falling in Reverse have dropped the celestial video for "Coming Home,"  the title track from their upcoming fourth album, due out April 7, 2017 on Epitaph Records. Watch the video for "Coming Home" here.

"This video is an analogy of the dichotomies between my personal life and my public life — a lonely traveler content on fulfilling the dreams he set out on, but missing out on everything he has at home. A bittersweet duality," said frontman Ronnie Radke.

The band also released the tracks "Loser" and "Broken" ahead of the album's release.

Coming Home is the follow up to 2015's Just Like You and the album finds the band exploring its sound, all the while retaining the signature ethos and aesthetic that has won the love and loyalty of its incredibly invested fans and followers.

Outburn described Coming Home as "sonically gripping from start to finish and impressive every step of the way, with neither Radke nor the band losing their edge" in its 10 out of 10 review. Alternative Press raved in its four-star review that "the album maintains a brilliant balance between uplifting and confessional, playful and serious. It’s the most real, honest, and self-aware record FIR have released to date."

2.  "Broken"

3.  "Loser"

4. "Fuck You and All Your Friends"

OVERCOATS ANNOUNCE DEBUT ALBUM ‘YOUNG,’ PRODUCED BY NICOLAS VERNHES AND AUTRE NE VEUT, OUT APRIL 21 ON ARTS & CRAFTS

On April 21, Arts & Crafts will release ‘YOUNG,’ the debut album from New York-based duo Overcoats.  Co-produced by Nicolas Vernhes (The War On Drugs, Dirty Projectors) and Autre Ne Veut, ‘YOUNG’ is a story about growing up told through the lens of two women who are wise beyond their years.

Overcoats is comprised of former college roommates Hana Elion and JJ Mitchell, who co-wrote all twelve songs on ‘YOUNG.’ The two were drawn to each other when they first met as teenagers in 2011, finding connection in a love of diverse musical styles, and forging a closeness that verges on sisterhood. Both members of Overcoats describe the first time hearing each other sing as an epiphany: the harmony of their voices leading to personal, individual discovery.

‘YOUNG’ weaves a tapestry of crystalline vocals with soaring synths and rich bass lines. From the subdued introspection of “Kai’s Song” to the thumping two-step and club-ready brass of “Leave The Light On”, ‘YOUNG’ showcases a striking range for the duo. While their seamless vocal interplay and contemplative lyrics remain at the core of their sound, ‘YOUNG’ is also rich with experimentation and sonic surprises.

This spring, Overcoats will play select dates opening for Tennis before heading out on a headlining tour later this year. Full itinerary below.
