Die Brit-Rocker ASH teilen heute ihr umfangreiches Best-Of "Teenage Wildlife - 25 years of Ash" via BMG.
Die Compilation enthält mit "Darkest Hour Of The Night" auch einen brandneuen, bisher unveröffentlichten Track, der hier gestreamt werden kann:

THE BOMBPOPS – Neue Single “Double Arrows Down” / Album am 13.03. auf Fat Wreck
Die Punkrock-Band THE BOMBPOPS kündigte kürzlich für den 13. März das neue Studioalbum "Death In Venice Beach" auf Fat Wreck an und teilte mit "Notre Dame" einen ersten Vorboten.
Mit "Double Arrows Down" präsentiert das Quartett nun einen weiteren Album-Track. Dazu liefert die Band ein unterhaltsames Video:

Sängerin und Gitarristin Poli Van Dam sagt folgendes zu den Hintergründen:
"'Double Arrows Down' is a song I had wanted to write for a while but it’s always been so difficult to really face it and hit the nail on the head. Diabetes is a frustrating, relentless disease. I hope fellow diabetics or anybody going through a rough circumstance can relate. We all want to give up sometimes, and I think that’s OK to admit."
An der Produktion von "Death In Venice Beach" arbeiteten neben Fat Mike (NOFX) auch Yotam Ben Horin (USELESS ID) sowie Chris Fogal (THE GAMITS). Letzterer nahm bereits das Debütalbum "Fear of Missing Out" mit auf.

Die Party-Punks DUNE RATS veröffentlichten kützlich ihr neues Studioalbum “Hurry Up And Wait” auf Rat Bag Records, in Kooperation mit BMG.
Das Album erreicht in der australischen Heimat den ersten Platz der Aria-Album-Charts, der Independent-Charts, der Vinyl-Charts und ist das erste Nummer-Eins-Album der neuen Dekade.

LE BUTCHERETTES präsentieren heute ihre neue EP "Don’t Bleed" auf Rise Records.
Die Mischung aus krachigen Songs und ihren wilden, kathartischen Live-Shows haben die weltweite Presse zu Vergleichen mit Karen O. (YEAH YEAH YEAHS), PATTI SMITH, BIKINI KILL und dutzenden anderen Rockbands, die von Frauen angeführt werden, hingerissen. Das trifft es zwar irgendwie, aber das Besondere an LE BUTCHERETTES ist die bewusst eingesetzte Theatralik und der Hang zur großen Geste, die der Präsenz der Band eine ganz eigene mystische Note verleihen.

DEREK SANDERS – Cover-EP ab heute auf Rise Records / Video zu “But Lauren”
DEREK SANDERS, Frontmann der Pop-Punk-Ikonen MAYDAY PARADE, veröffentlicht heute seine Cover-EP "My Rock And Roll Heart" auf Rise Records.
Die EP enthält fünf Neuinterpretationen von Songs, die SANDERS dazu veranlassten Musiker zu werden. Zu dem Song “But Lauren“ zeigt der Amerikaner nun ein Video
SANDERS kommentiert die kommende EP:
“When I started getting into music, I got an acoustic guitar when I was ten years old. I spent all of my time with that guitar, just learning to play and writing my first songs. I've been in so many bands since then, and it's cool to go back to playing acoustic and singing the way it all started.”

Die DIY-Punkband THICK kündigte vor Kurzem das Debütalbum "5 Years Behind" für den 06.03.2020 via Epitaph an und veröffentlichte gleichzeitig den Titeltrack.
Jetzt präsentiert das Trio aus Brooklyn mit "Bumming Me Out" einen weiteren Vorboten. Passend dazu teilt die Band zudem ein Musikvideo:
Zu dem Video-Konzept heißt es:
“It's one of our more vulnerable songs lyrically, so it was important to inject the video with some playfulness. We collaborated on the concept with Nic Henry (director). He had wanted to introduce the ‘Chill Reaper’ character for a while, so we worked him into the slumber party story, as the night gets weirder and weirder. We constructed the set in Nikki's bedroom as a throwback to our own bedrooms growing up, so there's also a sense of nostalgia throughout.”
"5 Years Behind" wurde im Studio G Brooklyn von Joel Hamilton produziert, der bereits mit Größen wie IGGY POP zusammenarbeitete.

M. WARD – Zwei exklusive Deutschland-Shows / Neues Album “Migration Stories” am 03.04. auf ANTI-
Der Indie-Folk-Songwriter M. WARD kündigt für den Herbst eine EU-Tour an, darunter zwei exklusive Shows in Deutschland:

Erst kürzlich präsentierte der Amerikaner die Songs "Unreal City" und "Migration Of Souls", die dem Studioalbum "Migration Stories" entstammen, das am 3. April auf ANTI- erscheinen wird.
Die Aufnahmen zum zehnten Album des Künstler fanden in Zusammenarbeit mit den ARCADE FIRE-Mitgliedern Tim Kingsbury und Richard Reed Parry statt. Für die Produktion und den Mix zeigt sich Craig Silvey verantwortlich, der bereits die Aufnahmen von den ARTIC MONKEYS, FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE und auch von den bereits erwähnten ARCADE FIRE leitete. Gemeinsam erarbeitete das Kollektiv elf Songs, die durch menschliche Fluchtgeschichten inspiriert wurden. WARD selbst kommentiert die Hintergründe wie folgt:
“Some time went by, the stories wove together and I remember them now closer to characters in a dream of how people could treat each other than any kind of front-page news realism. I think music subconsciously - whether writing or listening - is a filter for me. Helping to process all the bad news into something new to build from. Some records to me are like self-fulfilling prophecies - visualizing change to wish something into being. Those records inspired this one.”
M. WARD, der vom Rolling Stone zum "folk hero" ernannt wurde, trat neben seiner Solo-Karriere auch in der Supergroup MONSTER OF FOLK in Erscheinung, bildete mit ZOOEY DESCHANEL das Duo SHE & HIM und arbeitete als Studio- und Live-Musiker u.a. für MAVIS STAPLES und LUCINDA WILLIAMS.
